Power giant Eaton signs water deal with Business Stream

Following a competitive tendering process, Edinburgh based retailer, Business Stream, has been appointed by global power management company Eaton to provide its water and waste water services in England.
Under the new contract, Business Stream will work with the company to generate greater water efficiencies across its 21 sites in England. In addition, the water expert will work with the company to understand its trade effluent requirements and help ensure it remains compliant. Work is already underway to help individual sites with their trade effluent consent reviews and to identify ways to reduce charges.
Commenting on the appointment, Luke Taplin, procurement manager, Eaton, said: “At Eaton, water usage and waste management are critical pillars of our sustainability strategy. We use responsible water practices to maximize our efficient use of resources and minimise any potential negative impacts caused by effluents. Through the tendering process it became clear that Business Stream was the right partner to help us achieve our goals. By working with Business Stream, we believe we can achieve greater efficiencies across our English sites”

To date, Business Stream has helped its customers save more than £272 million in discounts and water and energy efficiencies. As passionate advocates of water efficiency, the retailer has also helped its customers save over 49 billion litres of water – the equivalent of nearly 20,000 Olympic sized filled swimming pools.
